Blues dancing lives in three connections: body, partner, music. We ground ourselves in our own body. We listen and respond to the music. We meet one another with care and attention, creating a space of trust and respect on the dance floor.

Honouring the roots

Blues music and blues dance were born within Black American communities in the Southern United States. They carry stories of resilience, creativity and lived experience.

At Bluesin’ Brussels, we consciously acknowledge these origins. We strive to honour the Black American roots of the blues by learning, crediting, and approaching the music and dance with respect and responsibility.
